Experience a historic gem at Castle Howard

Castle Howard is a magnificent historic house set within 1,000 acres of breath-taking landscape, and its grounds include lakes, fountains, temples and woodland. Enjoy thrill seeking rides at Flamingo Land

Flamingo Land is a theme park, zoo, and holiday resort described as Yorkshire’s ultimate theme park attraction. As well as a whole host of adrenaline-fuelled rides in the park, their award-winning zoo features over 140 species of mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and birds to meet.

Escape to nature at Dalby Forest

Dalby Forest offers over 8,000 acres of woodland to explore and enjoy. There are a number of walking trails to follow (suitable for all ability) and 55 miles of cycle trails for those wanting a more active way of exploring the forest!

With a wide range of special events held throughout the year, including Forest Live music concerts, children's holiday activities, and wildlife and nature events, Dalby Forest offers a fantastic day out for the whole family.

Explore the world’s oceans and marine life at The Deep

One of the most spectacular aquariums in the world, this award-winning attraction is home to approximately 5,000 animals and around 300 separate species. Travel through the story of the world’s oceans from warm tropical lagoons to icy cold seas and get up close and personal with the spectacular marine life through the underwater tunnel and glass lift.

We proudly stand in the historic neighbourhood of Walmgate, just a short walk from all the city has to offer.

At one point Walmgate had 20 pubs on the street, today it is a cool mix of independent restaurants, bars and shops and continues to Fossgate – which boasts even more independent shops, delis, bars and restaurants. Walmgate Bar proudly stands at the end of the road. It is the only existing bar in York with a Barbican and forms part of the York City Walls walk.

As a Yorkshireman, York is one of my favourite places to visit and I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit York as it will add to your overall experience. I visit many hotels in the UK and Europe during the course of my job and I can not remember feeling so pleased with my choice of hotel.
