A frosty Santa made an early appearance at our luxury boutique hotel in York when the Ice Trail returned to the historic city of York last weekend. The hotel which is located on Walmgate, was thrilled to be a part of the trail with a frosty Father Christmas to greet guests outside the hotel.
York was transformed for a weekend with 35 ice sculptures, made from crystal-clear ice, scattered across the centre and surrounding streets.
Mike Sweeting, General Manager at the luxury boutique hotel in York commented, “The Ice Trail is a show-stopping York event and a great way to get everyone into the festive cheer. It’s such a crowd pleaser for locals and visitors and we enjoyed taking part.”
Those on the trail not only marvelled at the icy creations but also enjoyed festive treats at street food stalls and of course plenty of mulled wine.
Live carving sessions also offered the chance to see the skill and techniques behind the icy creations in St Helen’s Square.
The Ice Trail hit the streets of York for the first-time last December and was so popular with families that Make It York brought it back to be a part of York Christmas Festival 2016.
