]To celebrate this year’s York Pride, our buzzy restaurant in York, No. 88 Walmgate next to our luxury boutique hotel in York, is offering all York Pride wristband holders 30% off food. The restaurant, located within Hotel Indigo York Hotel has also created an extra special #RaiseYourRainbow inspired Freakshake.

The Freakshake, containing local Yorvale ice cream, is a multi-coloured marvel of delicious sweet treats and costs £7.

Mike Sweeting, General Manager at Indigo York Hotel says, “We’ve gained quite a reputation for our decadent Freakshakes, and we are always creating new and exciting variations inspired by seasonal events.

“The ‘Raise Your Rainbow’ theme for York Pride seemed the perfect fit and Chef has really outdone himself with this latest Freakshake. It’s a colourful and delicious masterpiece!”

The York Pride Wristband Scheme sees businesses of York unite and offer special discounts during the Pride period (4th June to 2nd July) to all those wearing the wristband. Wristbands can be purchased online for £5 and it is the sale of these wristbands that is the main funding source for York Pride.

York Pride aims to promote equality and diversity, and to raise awareness of LGBT issues, by staging events, taking part in campaigning and commentary in the media, and providing support to other LGBT charities and voluntary organisations.

Hotel Indigo York, part of the Splendid Hospitality Group, is a 101 room luxury boutique hotel in York located within prime reach of many of the city’s most outstanding restaurants, bars, boutiques, artisan shops, famous team rooms, museum and galleries.

We proudly stand in the historic neighbourhood of Walmgate, just a short walk from all the city has to offer.

At one point Walmgate had 20 pubs on the street, today it is a cool mix of independent restaurants, bars and shops and continues to Fossgate – which boasts even more independent shops, delis, bars and restaurants. Walmgate Bar proudly stands at the end of the road. It is the only existing bar in York with a Barbican and forms part of the York City Walls walk.
