York is the UK’s home of chocolate, known as the birthplace to three of the worlds biggest chocolate making dynasties – Terry’s, Rowntree’s and Craven’s. It should, therefore, come as no surprise that being a chocolate filled season, Easter is one of York’s biggest religious festivals. In this blog, our boutique York hotel explores what is on offer for big and little kids in York this Easter!
The great York bunny search
Back for another year, look high and low to find 26 hidden bunny sculptures. Each has its own quirky design, which mirrors their mischievous personalities. Dust off your detective skills and hop around the city in search of them. Head to the York Chocolate Story, trail sponsors in Kings Square, just minutes from our York city centre hotel, to check out the bunnies and learn about York’s delicious chocolate heritage. A certain ‘Easter Bunny’ told us the bunnies love to hide in windows, so perhaps start your search there.
York Chocolate Festival
Moving on… or not, the York Chocolate festival will be on Parliament Street between 19th – 22nd April. Tuck into some of the best chocolate in the world at the chocolate market or gain some serious chocolate making skills in the demonstration tent. If that isn’t enough, be sure to stroll round to the Shambles Food Court for even more sweet treats!
