York Chocolate Festival

York’s annual chocolate festival celebrates the chocolate industry, artisan chocolatiers, and all chocolate lovers out there. York Chocolate Festival takes place in April over the Easter weekend to celebrate all things chocolate in the city. The festival hosts a programme full of demonstrations, workshops, lectures, tastings, and of course Easter egg hunts. There’s also the chance to stock up on some tasty chocolate treats at the festivals chocolate market. Details on the festivals will be announced nearer the time.

Chocolate workshops

Try your hand at making your very own chocolate lollipop at York Cocoa House. Give away your chocolate creation as an Easter gift or enjoy it all to yourself! Have a go at working with tempered chocolate to make your lollipop and show off your design skills when decorating your tasty treat. For those more adventurous, book up one of York Cocoa House’s more advanced chocolate workshops including chocolate truffle making, cocoa bean to chocolate bar making, and chocolate model making.

We proudly stand in the historic neighbourhood of Walmgate, just a short walk from all the city has to offer.

At one point Walmgate had 20 pubs on the street, today it is a cool mix of independent restaurants, bars and shops and continues to Fossgate – which boasts even more independent shops, delis, bars and restaurants. Walmgate Bar proudly stands at the end of the road. It is the only existing bar in York with a Barbican and forms part of the York City Walls walk.

As a Yorkshireman, York is one of my favourite places to visit and I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit York as it will add to your overall experience.
