YOUR GUIDE TO THE FESTIVE SEASON FROM OUR BOUTIQUE HOTEL IN YORK

With its charming medieval streets and stunning gothic architecture, York is the perfect city for a Christmas getaway. Our York hotel shares its guide to the festive season in York.

Follow the frosty trail

For one weekend only, York will be transformed with a sprinkling of icy magic across the city for York's Ice Trail. On 9th and 10th December, over 40 frosty ice figures will be scattered across the city for you to find, with the chance to win some fantastic prizes. In 2016 Santa made an early appearance at our boutique hotel in York, we wonder if he’ll be back this year?

We proudly stand in the historic neighbourhood of Walmgate, just a short walk from all the city has to offer.

At one point Walmgate had 20 pubs on the street, today it is a cool mix of independent restaurants, bars and shops and continues to Fossgate – which boasts even more independent shops, delis, bars and restaurants. Walmgate Bar proudly stands at the end of the road. It is the only existing bar in York with a Barbican and forms part of the York City Walls walk.
