It’s said to serve the best coffee in York, amongst a range of other amazing drink options, and tasty sweet treats. So, why not pay a visit and drink up the fascinating history of the building on your next trip to our city?!

Partisan

Want some culture with your coffee? Partisan is a licensed arts space, as well as a café and restaurant, on Micklegate. They regularly host exhibitions for local and national artists so keep an eye out for any that may be coming up.

Their menu changes seasonally, and they work with local vendors, where possible, to ensure the freshest quality ingredients. They also grow a lot of their own herbs on their farm!

So grab a treat, sit back, and enjoy the art.

Brew & Brownie

For the sweetest café in York, you have to pay Brew & Brownie a visit. Their delicious pastry counter is refreshed daily, with plenty of selection to choose from, including vegan and gluten free options.

You’ll find classic northern hospitality at this gem, as well as plenty of locally sourced ingredients for the best flavours and quality possible.

The Perky Peacock

Enter a slice of history at The Perky Peacock. The café sits inside Barker Tower, which was built in the 14th Century, originally for the purpose of collecting a toll from visitors entering the city

You can find everything you’re looking for here, whether you’re searching for sweet treats, a tasty breakfast, or even a cheeky cocktail in the evening!
